drabble: Falling into Victory...

Well, poor mortals, here's my second drabble. Since this is more complex than the first one, but it's true it's maybe not so emotive w.r.t. the previous... I hope there will be someone that will find the four classical reading senses (according to Dante Alighieri et al) in this text: literal, moral, metaphoric and anagogic... if then, and however of this, the text likes you, I'll feel glad for this :) I'll promise to try to offer drabbles with the four reading senses as always as I will able to ;) Just like that, this short text can became a special experience for those who want to read beyond the words...

It's moments like these that make me feel disgraced. Although the end of war is far away, this battle has finished. Surrounded by fallen weapons; buried in flesh; sunken in blood. But nothing is mine; I've received no attack. So, spitting someone else's blood and removing viscera, I arise and look around. Now I'm conscious of the truth: I'm the only survivor. Eveything I desire is dead or too much far from me. I've serve the Empire but I don't feel so lucky; I don't know what to do. How can I go with Mitra? Am I really a winner?

WOW!

First of all:I wrote WOW as a sound, not meaning World Of Warcraft. After this short explanation which, in fact, I think it wasn't necessary as you wouldn't have though in another meaning if I didn't mention it, and writing these lines not really interesting (I'm thinking that I don't really know how many lines will be when I post it because this windows is smaller than the other one...uhm, I could maximize it...ehm...nevermind) I better comment your drabble.

In my opinion, it's deeper and makes me think more than the other one. However, as I've been all the day on the sofa, watching TV, (It hasn't been exactly as described :P) I can't get to a conclusion right now. Just one question: Being alone is a victory? Also, if what you desire still exists, you have a motivation to go on, haven't you?

Uhm, I don't know if I have understood correctly the meaning. If not, correct me XD

Salut!

hahahahaha thanks for the explanation about 'wow' XD about your feelings about the drabble, I see that you have concentrate your neurons on the metaphorical vision but getting only the literal ideas XD usual mistake, I think :P

Obviously, being alone is not a victory for you but for your greater on military hierarchy or your Emperor or your Empire's desires (ergo, this is the literal vision :P).

On the other part, you must examine the situation on the Roman Empire age, between the 1st and 5th centuries (the God of Army, Mitra -original of India, the sungod-, is the hint :P), when the battles could occur even in another continent; so, the far away concept is about the idea of unachieving anything when (or because :P) you are alone.

However, a good try at all, and I'm really glad :) It has been able to provoque reflexions on at least one person :)
